A little about
my story...
What began as a "recovery" hobby after some wonderful but stressful years of owning a coffeeshop, became a business in 2011 when I participated in my first local art fair and discovered that people actually liked what I was doing. And, even more shocking, they were willing to give me money for it! As I've worked hard at developing my skills and knowledge since then, it has become a passion and I've experienced the amazing energy that investing in your creativity brings to your life.
In 2012 I was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease. This sharpened my intent to do this as a business even more, as I was unable to commit to work outside my home due to the symptoms I was dealing with. In my efforts to improve my health situation I came across essential oils, which have become an integral part of my life and a tool that I depend upon to maintain my health and energy. The clay diffuser necklaces are my personal design and a wonderful way to get more out of your oils.
For me, making jewelry is about creating a life that I love. Yes, I am doing it as a business and it's what I do to contribute to our income. But it's also my heart saying that I refuse to be a victim. Growing up had some rough spots and I have made a conscious decision to not be defined by that but instead to choose my future and be intensely grateful for the beauty in each moment. Creating things of beauty and sharing them with others is life-giving for me, and I never tire of it. The themes of faith, empowerment, hope, thankfulness, loving creation and life, celebrating who you are - these are the heartbeats of every piece I work on. And it's so gratifying when I see someone else connect and respond to these messages.
I do all my work from my home studio in Wichita Falls, TX, where I enjoy life with my hubby of over 40 years and our sassy Aussie pup. We have 3 kids and 5 grandkids who fill and overflow our hearts with smiles and laughter and keep us young. Well, young-ish.
